progress

There is movement on the block.  Pegs have been banged in...and we are having fun stepping out the boundaries to our house.  A shed has been built and quickly filled with oodles of necessities like ride-on mowers, trailers, tools and bits and bobs.  I even have a pair of Rossi boots.  Who'd have thunk it??  But the more time we spend out here the more our anticipation grows of when this will be our place of residence.  We are planning out the veggie garden, getting advice regarding boundary trees, chook pens and I'm working on the citrus orchard (yes I will never buy another lemon!)... More importantly the builder starts on the house this month - squeeeeeee!!!!!  I hope to be there on the first day.  It will be very exciting times.

And if you are visiting here from my other blog Mira Narnie, thanks so much for stopping by..

WOW Brenda!! So exciting for you and your family! I'm looking forward to seeing the dream develop. :)
We are on 50acres (inlaws farm) and got chooks a few months ago - awesome free eggs! And there are fruit trees and the kids love the space.

Yay! I'm working on our chook space at the moment, excited and terrified at the same time! Can't believe that 4 years ago I was living in London and now I'm by a vineyard in the country!!! xo

What an exciting year you have ahead of you. So many decisions. How nice to be able to build a house facing the direction you want it to, to get the sun where you wish it it fall on the house. Perfect! And a orchard, my dream! Time to get planting those fruit trees as soon as the heat passes I think so you get your first crops sooner!

How exciting. My aunt did this same thing about 10 years ago and her property is quite established now, I'm in awe of her orchard, vegetable gardens, chooks, pis etc. I'm sure you will have such a wonderful experience also. One of the best things is seeing her kids (now 14, 12 and 10) go on adventures around the farm or in their tree house, no tv, video games or the like in sight!
